For the second year the housewares industry’s biggest event, The Inspired Home Show, has been canceled because of on-going concerns over COVID-19.
Typically held each March at Chicago’s McCormick Place, this year’s event had been pushed back to August 7-10. However, officials with the International Housewares Association (IHA), the show’s organizer, cited on-going state restrictions prohibiting large gatherings and government travel restrictions as key factors in the show’s cancelation.
“Over the past year, we have been closely watching the status of large events from a health and public safety perspective, and have consistently sought feedback from our industry about how travel restrictions and mass gathering bans have impacted their normal operations,” said Derek Miller, IHA president. “With the health and safety of our exhibitors and attendees top of mind, we realized that it is infeasible for The Inspired Home Show to proceed in August of 2021.”
The Inspired Home Show 2022 is scheduled for March 5-8 at McCormick Place. The event, which was last held in 2019, is a trade-only event that attracts leading vendors and retailers from around the world to showcase the latest in food and beverage preparation products, tableware and storage and organization products.
