The doors of Bed Bath & Beyond and its sister retail brands will be closed on Thanksgiving Day in the United States and Canada, the retailer announced.
In announcing the decision to close, officials with the home specialty retailer said the company will provide a full range of shopping options leading up the each country’s Thanksgiving Day. This includes the newly introduced 2-hour Buy Online Pickup In-Store (BOPIS) and contactless Curbside Pickup.
“In a year when it’s more important than ever to celebrate the season with friends and family, we will be there to help our customers make this holiday season extra special,” said Mark Tritton, president/CEO of Bed Bath & Beyond. “We’re also pleased that we can ensure our people have time to be with their loved ones this Thanksgiving and are so grateful for their commitment and support throughout this extraordinary year.”
Bed Bath is the latest national retailer to announce plans to shut its stores on Thanksgiving Day, following Walmart, Target and Best Buy.
In addition to its Bed Bath & Beyond locations, the company’s other retail brands including buybuy BABY, Christmas Tree Shops, Harmon Face Values and Cost Plus World Market will also be closed on Thanksgiving.
In the near future, the retailer will unveil plans to make it even easier to feel at home this Holiday season, including great deals, inspiring products, thoughtful gifts, new shopping hours and services that allow everyone to shop safely and conveniently.
