Home products supplier Demdaco has opened its first retail store at Legends Outlet in Kansas City, KS, that offers shoppers a mix of gift and decor products.

A report from In Kansas City noted that the 2,460-square foot store was originally slated for an October 2019 opening. Delays pushed back the date to early April, but the COVID-19 pandemic shelved those plans. The store’s assortment includes home decor products, holiday and season gifts, baby gifts, self-care apparel and accessories.

Company officials said despite the on-going challenges related to the pandemic, this was a good time to open the store.

“We strive to lift the spirit in consumers, in each other and in our communities,” Nate Fraley, Demdaco’s creative services director, told In Kansas City. “The store represents an opportunity to live that mission and be a source of inspiration and hope right now.”

Based in Leawood, KS, Demdaco’s product assortment features a broad selection of home and entertaining products that includes kitchen and entertaining. While the company has a long history of selling products to retailers, the step across the line for product supplier to a retailer is one that offers Demdaco new opportunities.

“This store is set up so we can learn as a retailer, so we can gather best practices from visitors,” Fraley said. “We want to use those insights to build a meaningful experience for all the customers we serve.”
