Epicure Recalls Glass Prep Bowls Due to Breakage

Epicure's set of four prep bowls have been recalled.

Epicure and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have issued a recall on a set of four prep bowls following reports of breaking or shattering.

According to the CPSC, the clear glass bowls are sold with plastic purple lids and have the product code “1004242” printed on the outside bottom of the box.

Additionally, “Epicure” is stamped on the bowls and the lids, and each bowl is marked with the following measurements:  “50 ml,” “125ml,” “175ml,” “1/4 cup,” “1/2 cup,” and “3/4 cup.”

The company has received six reports in the United States of the bowls breaking or shattering and 35 similar reports in Canada, including one involving a minor cut on a finger.

Made in China, the bowls were sold by Epicure independent consultants nationwide between May 2020 and September 2020 for about $23.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled prep bowls and contact Epicure for a free replacement product.
