Messermeister continues to expand its assortment of cutlery with the addition of its new Kawashima 6.5-inch Nakiri knife.

Featuring a traditional Asian-inspired blade, which has gained popularity for its thin blade and easy-to-use straight cutting edge, Messermeister has put a new twist on the traditional shape by incorporating a “Spanish point” to improve the utility in the tip.

Said to be the knife of choice for cutting vegetables, the Nakiri features a cambered handle design that provides maximum control and hand clearance while the straight edge makes positive contact on a cutting board.

Made in Seki, Japan, the knife features powdered SG2 steel, a 15-degree precision edge and comes with the company’s “Knife For Life” guarantee that provides a lifetime warranty against material and manufacturing defects.

For proper care, Messermeister recommends cleaning the knife by hand washing with warm water and a mild detergent and rinse and dry immediately. The knife should not be placed in a dishwasher and cleaners containing bleach or citrus extracts should be avoided.
