Hardcore wine drinkers know the important role the right glass plays in enjoyed their favorite style of vino.

Oneida’s Flavor First line looks to address this issue while simultaneously simplifying the process of purchasing the proper glass for specific types of wine. Three styles of glasses are offered in the collection: Crisp & Fresh, Creamy & Silky and Bold & Powerful.

The line was designed with Karen MacNeil, author of The Wine Bible.

“Our Flavor First collection is the next step forward in wine glass evolution,” she said. “It’s based on the simplest realization of all, that flavor is what matters most.”

The Crisp & Fresh glasses feature an elevated wide-point. The design places the widest part of the glass in close proximity to your nose, enhancing the perception of freshness and liveliness in wines that are crisp and fresh.

The glass is great for Champagne, Prosecco, Sparkling Wine, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Grigio plus light Rosé

Creamy & Silky features a centered wide point that is designed for balance in every dimension. The wine has a balanced amount of surface area in contact with oxygen. The classic egg shape (a dominant form in Nature) enhances the perception of harmonious creamy and silky flavors and textures.

Several wines including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, rich-styled Rosé, Pinot Noir, Chianti and Shiraz work well with the Creamy & Silky glasses.

The Bold & Powerful collection features a low wide-point that allows ample headspace for aroma and molecules to gather and abundant space for swirling. This glass also provides maximum wine surface area in contact with oxygen, helping to “open up” and soften powerful wines.

This collection is designed with several wines in mind including a big Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Bordeaux, Zinfandel, Malbec, Barolo and Syrah.

The three collections are offered in sets of 6 priced at $74.99.
