Report: Amazon Prime Day Set To Kick-off October 13

Prime Day, Amazon

Amazon’s annual Prime Day, which was delayed this past July because of the COVID-19 pandemic, may be held in October.

According to a report by The Verge, which cited an internal Amazon email, Prime Day will be held October 13 and 14. An official announcement is expected prior to the end of September.

A spokesperson for the e-commerce giant reached by The Verge declined to confirm or deny the report and said to “stay tuned” for additional details on Prime Day.

Figures from Statista show that Prime Day 2019 brought in more than $7 billion in sales during the 2-day event.

In the past with Prime Day announcements from Amazon, other retailers including Walmart, Target, Wayfair and others have responded immediately with one-day online-only promotions of their own. With news leaking over potential dates for this year’s Prime Day, it will be interesting to gauge the response from other retailers.

Wayfair held its 2020 Wayday promotion on September 23 and 24, with details about the success of the two-day site-wide sale yet to be announced.
