Available on March 1, the eye-catching grey Pakkawood handle of each piece of cutlery offers what the company said is a “sophisticated addition” to one’s kitchen counter.
Shun’s assortment includes an 8-inch chef’s knife, 6.5-inch utility knife, 4-inch paring knife, 9-inch bread knife, 7-inch Santoku knife and 5.5-inch Nakiri knife and a 5-piece starter block set.
Among the highlights of the new Shun collection is the starter set (priced at $677) that includes an 8-inch chef’s knife, 4-inch paring knife, 6.5-inch utility knife, combination honing steel and slimline bamboo block designed to take up less space on a countertop.
The blade of each knife is resistant to wear and corrosion and holds a fine, sharp edge at 16° on each side. Handcrafted in Japan, 68 micro-layers of Damascus cladding add to the look of each piece of cutlery while supporting and protecting the core.
