Simplehuman’s newest product is not a cooking-related item, but it is one that could find itself in the kitchens of many homes.
With the average person touching his/her phone 2,617 times per day, the device has become a fixture in many kitchens and a helpful tool when looking up recipes or needed cooking tips.
According to simplehuman, the unit is EPA-registered and uses its omni-lux chamber to sanitize the phone’s entire surface, killing 99.9% of germs in only 30 seconds.
To use the cleanstation, the phone is inserted into the unit and automatically lowers into the omni-lux chamber where 30 high-intensity UV-C LED lights use highly reflective aluminum to ensure UV rays are hitting the entirety of the phone’s surface. When sanitation is complete, the phone will automatically raise up.
Made of brushed stainless steel, cleanstation is able to accommodate an iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro Max with a slim case. It fits a device that measures 6.5-inch x 3.3-inch x 0.5-inch.
The cleanstation is priced at $200.
