Kitchenware specialty retailer Sur La Table may be out of bankruptcy, but its store portfolio is shrinking again.
The retailer will shut an additional 17 locations across the United States. Previously, the company had announced it would shut 56 stores as part of its restructuring plan to optimize its footprint.
Liquidation sales in the closing store locations are expected to last approximately five weeks, or until all merchandise is sold. The length of the sale will vary by location. Store furniture, fixtures and equipment will also be available for purchase in certain locations.
In August, a joint venture of Marquee Brands and CSC Generation acquired the remaining Sur La Table stores, brand and all related intellectual property. The retailer continues to operate more than 55 locations across the country.
