The Vitamix brand, which has long been associated with blending, is now expanding its presence in the kitchen’s of consumers with the launch of its 12-cup food processor attachment.
Fitting directly on the motor base of the company’s Ascent/Venturist machines, the new attachment performs several functions commonly offered by a food processor including slicing, chopping and, of course, processing. The attachment can be used to solve a variety of culinary needs ranging from slicing and dicing vegetables to making dough and nut butters.
“This is a versatile tool that raises the quality of my work across the board,” said Adam Wilson, Manager of Culinary Exploration for Vitamix. “I can cut full, consistent slices of tomato or super thin slices of cucumber. It also excels at processing and emulsifying flavorful sauces and pastes.”
In addition to the functionality of the food processor attachment, the unit was also designed for easy storage. All parts nest inside one another, forming a compact unit that can be tucked into a kitchen cabinet or pantry. The unit also offers easy assembly by using a snap and stack approach. Audible clicks indicate that the parts are assembled correctly.
The food processor attachment comes with a three-year warranty on all parts, most of which are dishwasher safe. It is available at Vitamix.com for $199.95. The motor base must be purchased separately.
