Best known for its assortment of countertop power blenders, Vitamix has entered the immersion blender segment.
Equipped with a 625-watt motor, the new unit offers one-hand operation allowing left-handed or right-handed individuals to easily blend items while adding ingredients.
Offering 5 speeds and a 4-pronged blade, the blender’s specially designed bell guard is said to reduce suction and help ingredients flow easily through the blades while protecting pots, pans and other containers. A 5-foot cord allows for ease of use around the kitchen.
The retail price is $149.95.
The immersion blender introduction follows the September launch of Vitamix’s 12-cup food processor attachment.
Fitting directly on the motor base of the company’s Ascent/Venturist machines, the new attachment performs several functions commonly offered by a food processor including slicing, chopping and, of course, processing.
The attachment can be used to solve a variety of culinary needs ranging from slicing and dicing vegetables to making dough and nut butters.
